How to Plan a Post Pandemic Bar Crawl Party

There are few better ways to soak up the fun in a Philadelphia neighborhood than by partaking in a good old fashioned bar crawl. While it may seem like an easy event to execute, a poorly planned bar crawl can quickly devolve into a booze-fueled logistical nightmare. Here are a few field-tested tips anyone can use to pull off a legendary bar crawl.

Stay Hydrated and Full

This is solid advice for any drinking event, but it’s especially important with the marathon of a top-notch bar crawl. Prepare those stomachs for waves of alcohol with a pre-crawl meal at a diner, taqueria, or really anywhere that has hefty portions of deliciously greasy food. It’s also a good idea to arrange for a strategic refueling later in the day, like before the last or second-to-last stops. And don’t forget to drink water throughout the night.

Keep Everyone Together

Have you heard the expression herding cats? Well, herding drunk friends is about the same degree of difficulty (with the added challenge that your friends probably weigh more than the average tabby). If you plan on walking the crawl, make sure the stops aren’t so far apart that people can get distracted and wander off to separate adventures. Better yet, rent an SUV or Executive Van to keep everyone together from start to finish.

Give the Bars a Heads Up

If your crawl is going to have more than four or five people, it’s good etiquette to let the bars know you’re coming. This way you can avoid overwhelming the bar staff and they won’t be annoyed by the flock of inebriates on their sixth stop of the night pouring into their space. If your group is big enough and you ask nicely, they may even throw a drink special or two your way.

Of course, the most important rule when on a bar crawl or any drinking excursion is to be safe and responsible. Arranging for a car service to shepherd folks between stops or, if it’s a walking bar crawl, get people home at the end of the night, is the smartest way to ensure the night doesn’t end in catastrophe. Philadelphia Limo is Philly’s highest-rated car and limo service, with drivers who can get your whole party home safe and sound. Call (215) 485-7265, or book online to reserve your bar crawl limo or bus today.

What Post-Pandemic Business Travel Plans Looks Like Now

Business travel is starting to come back but, according to a new study, it might not be business-as-usual post-pandemic for corporate travel managers, programs and policies. How will the pandemic and business travel recovery change corporate travel programs going forward? Are pandemic-related changes to company travel policies likely to remain permanent? Will the business travel ecosystem and travel programs in 2022 look vastly different than they did in pre-pandemic 2019?

These topics are explored in a new report released today—"The Return to Business Travel: A New Paradigm on the Evolution of Buyers and Stakeholders Post-COVID”—from The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the world’s largest business travel association, and made possible by new travel and expense technology. Based on survey responses from U.S. and Canadian travel managers, the study outlines how the return of business travel might look post-pandemic from the lens of corporate travel managers and especially for managed online business travel bookings.

“Now is the moment that corporate travel managers are moving from triage and temporary solutions that may have been required to address business travel during the pandemic, to a longer range, more considered view based on new requirements—from technologies to policies to processes— that will be the basis for the next chapter and best outcomes for companies, business travelers and managed business travel programs,” said Nick Whitehead, CMO, Serko.

“When the pandemic brought almost all travel to a halt there was the recognition of the important role of business travel in helping companies to grow their revenue, workforces and share prices. But as we get back to business travel, the landscape has changed. Travel managers are actively embracing evolution to determine what will be needed next,” said Suzanne Neufang, CEO, GBTA.

Here are survey highlights on what’s next for post-pandemic corporate travel management:

  • TEMPORARY TIGHTENING. OR IS IT? The pandemic forced many corporate travel programs to introduce more booking policy restrictions. Seven in ten (71%) travel managers report their company’s booking-related travel policies have become stricter due to the pandemic—however, six in ten (61%) of those expect the changes to be temporary.
  • UPTICK IN ASSISTED BOOKINGS. Booking business travel via an online booking tool (OBT) has declined during the pandemic, forcing a greater reliance on agent assisted bookings. Pre-pandemic, only 9% of travel managers said their company had a “high touch” model where travelers typically made “managed” bookings directly with a travel agent. Now, one in five (20%) say their company has a high touch model. To restore confidence in moving bookings back online, travel managers most pointed to the need for key features such as integrated destination health and safety information (85%), automatic ticket credits (77%), contextual policy applications (57%), and visually highlighted hotels that meet COVID safety protocols (53%).
  • APPROVALS GO MANUAL AND MULTIPLE. In the current COVID-19 environment, travel programs not only require manual approval of business trips, but many require manual approval by multiple people. Of those that do, two in five (42%) respondents say most of their manual processing requires multiple approvers (e.g. employee’s manager and HR employee).
  • REELING BOOKINGS BACK IN. Addressing leakage – i.e. business travel bookings made outside a company’s preferred channels – has become an even greater priority. Half of travel managers (46%) say reducing leakage is a “greater” or “much greater” priority than before the pandemic or equal priority (40%) today as before the pandemic. Travel managers identified OBT features that would help reduce leakage including rich airfare information and imagery and NDC-enabled bookings.
  • OBT EVOLUTION. A sizeable number of travel managers are open to changing their company’s OBT in the next two to three years. Four in ten report they are likely (13%) or considering (31%) changing their company’s OBT. Key features of most interest include enhanced user experience and innovations, enhanced content, easier management, and increased traveler satisfaction. When it comes to OBT innovation, travel managers are seeking to streamline the booking process and ensure alignment with corporate policies and goals. OBT features of most interest include personalized itinerary recommendations (78%) and conversational chatbot booking (73%) using intelligent technology (i.e., artificial intelligence) as well as insights into the environmental impact of the travel itinerary (61%).

Five Benefits of Hiring a Limo Service During a Pandemic

Extra space

Each day, we see signs and hear warnings about the importance of maintaining social distancing. While it’s not always feasible to remain six feet apart from other people, there are plenty of things you can do to keep your space.

Rather than piling into a tight SUV, limousines offer plenty more room for you and other passengers to space out from one another. If passengers include different families, each family can also sit in their own “pod,” maintaining more distance from other households.

Cleanliness

The added space is just one of the impressive benefits of hiring a limo service during a pandemic and beyond. At the same time, you’ll also get the peace of mind of knowing you’re in a clean, well-maintained vehicle.

Before you enjoy limo services in Philadelphia from the Philly Limousine you’ll know the vehicle you’re riding in has been cleaned and sanitized just for you.

Unfortunately, this just isn’t always possible when you use public transportation, taxi or Uber services. During an Uber/Lyft, taxi, train, or bus ride, you not only come into contact with dozens of strangers, but you’re also exposed to any germs they leave behind too!

Reducing cross-contamination

In addition to the peace of mind you get knowing your limo has been cleaned and sanitized for you, you’ll take comfort in knowing it doesn’t have hundreds–or even thousands–of other people coming into contact with it each day.

Unlike public transportation or Uber/taxi, our limo fleet only caters to select clients each day. Ultimately, this drastically reduces the risk of cross-contamination because high-touch surfaces can be disinfected between use.

If you’re planning a trip to the Greater Philadelphia area, a trained and professional uniformed chauffeur will deliver you to your destination on time in a clean and smoke-free vehicle.

Comfort

Our fleet includes more than 10 vehicles. In addition to keeping each one clean, safe, and looking its best, we do whatever we can to ensure your ride is as comfortable as possible. And during these uncertain times, you deserve an effortless, comfortable experience.

To ensure you have the best experience, we’ve taken into account every detail of your experience. This includes everything from the booking process to the completion of your limo ride in Philadelphia.

A better option for traveling to and from airports

We cater to a variety of notable events, including weddings, birthdays, concerts, graduations, proms, funerals, anniversaries, and nights out on the town. But right now, one of the biggest concerns our clients come to us with is safe transportation to and from the area airports. And with travel anxiety at an all-time high, hiring a limo service can ease a lot of your concerns.

Even if we’re not facing a pandemic, one of the biggest benefits of hiring a limo service is its reliability.

Maybe you have a flight to catch or you’re eager to get home after a long trip. Either way, we know time is of the essence. With a limo service, you’ll feel safe and secure in knowing you’ll be picked up and dropped off from the airport on time. We are serving all major airports in the Tri-state area (PHL, EWR, JFK, BWI) as well as private airfields and FBOs

4 Leadership Exercises to Make You A Better Leader

The skills that a manager needs are both numerous and demanding – you must be able to communicate, delegate, inspire and get the best from a team. Most individuals have a certain style, that may suit and cater for some, or for the luck few a majority, of the required skills but most of us have to work at our leadership skills. Today’s post brings you a short list of easy exercises aimed at improving your leadership skills.

Collaborate
A really effective leader values others’ opinions and can then take a group and make it perform much more effectively as a team, as opposed to the sum of its individual parts. To learn to be a better collaborative leader, take a small portion of your day to garner opinions from employees, list the best and most thoughtful observations and respond to them directly in a non-critical manner. This will definitely have the effect that all team members will feel that their opinions are valued and, hopefully, you may get some great suggestions.

Role Models
One of the best ways of improving your own leadership skill is simply by speaking to other great leaders. These could be fellow managers, friends or part of your wider business network. The key activity is to simply speak to them about leadership related issues and their views. You could ask them how they’d respond to a hypothetical situation. You’ll most likely find that you all become better leaders due to this discourse.

Team Building
As the above word suggests great teams must be built. This does not always need to be an organized outing, any activity that invests in the cohesion, or effectiveness of a team is, by definition, team building.  Consultation is also important as far a teambuilding is concerned; you need to conduct activities that the group will enjoy. By showing a team that you’re willing to invest in it you’re already demonstrating to your employees leadership.

Never Stop Learning
A really easy daily habit to get into is to spend a few minutes each day researching leadership skills and theories. The type of things you do can be diverse and satisfying, such as: reading an autobiography, leadership journal or just keeping up with relevant blogs. You may find it useful to note down any really helpful bits of information and you should find that you gain something small every day.
